WHY PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT?

Professional Development must be targeted based on a need to improve job performance.  To that end, the State of Florida adopted a Professional Development Protocol framework to ensure that professional development is aligned with student needs. 

Your task, when determining which workshops to request, is to consider the following.  You will be asked these questions at the conclusion of each workshop taken at FDLRS/Westgate:

Are the concepts to be taught relevant to your current position?

Do I understand how learner outcomes are influenced by the implementation of this training?

FOLLOW-UP

TRANSFER TO STUDENTS

Will I be able to use the knowledge and/or skills learned in the training to impact student achievement in my classroom/school/district?

WEB-BASED RESOURCES and ASSISTANCE

Will I utilize the web-based resources and assistance provided to me during this training as a way of improving my skills?
